Request for Proposals (RFP) Bid Open: New Human Services Partnership - Office of Community & Economic Development (OCED) (Online)

Below are details about the mini-grant funding round for the New Human Services Partnership. Details include an updated timeline, information about eligibility, and info on prep sessions for those new to applying for funds.

The main goal of the Mini-Grant funding round is to provide smaller organizations who are addressing poverty, racism, and trauma as a root cause of institutional inequity in Washtenaw County an opportunity to receive funding.  See the NHSP 2022 Mini-Grant Funding Round Overview document, for more information on

Mini-Grant funding round details:

  • Funding is intended for organizations or groups who are working to address poverty, racism and trauma in our community. Funding can be applied to support new or existing work.

  • Currently $407,707 is available. We are expecting to award 10 one-time grants for $40,000 each to be utilized over a 12 month period

  • Organizations with overall budgets less than $1 million are eligible to apply

  • Mini-grants will prioritize funding organizations led by individuals who are more representative of the County’s diversity overall. Priority will be given to organizations or agencies led by individuals with underrepresented identities within the leadership of Hunan Services agencies. Our goal is to provide 60% of funding to these agencies.

  • The request for proposal will formally open on Mon., Aug. 22 and close on Fri., Sept. 16

OCED is working to make the application process more accessible and fairly easy to complete.  To do so, they’ve added some prep sessions to provide the opportunity for organizations to learn more before the proposal is released about the process overall, ideas on how to partner in cases where a group or organization might not have the capacity to administer a grant, etc.  Two prep sessions will be held before the RFP is released, followed by formal info sessions after the RFP is opened.

Prep sessions to learn and ask questions about the RFP process overall:
