NYU Furman Center Housing Solutions Lab Panel Event

Exclusionary and discriminatory housing policies have shaped America’s cities for decades and continue to foster present-day inequalities in housing and access to opportunity. Across the nation, city leaders must reckon with the legacy of policies and practices that persist in perpetuating housing instability, racial wealth gaps, physical and cultural displacement.

Join the Housing Solutions Lab for a virtual discussion focused on how cities can productively examine the impact of historic planning decisions on housing inequalities and apply that knowledge towards more equitable local planning processes and policies in the present.

Panelists will include:
- Andrea Brennan, Director of Community Planning & Economic Development, City of Minneapolis
- Clay Fong, Mgr, Comm. Rels. & Office of Human Rights, City of Boulder Housing & Human Services
- Emily Liu, Director, Louisville Metro Planning & Design Services
- Christopher Tyson, Chief Executive Officer, Build Baton Rouge

Moderated by: Monique King-Viehland, Associate VP of Metro Housing & Comm. Policy, Urban Institute
